This IMPp cycle we made a calculator from integrated circuits (ICs). ICs are composed of transistors, making them one of the lowest level components of a computer. We used the 74ls181 ALU as the core of our project, as it has a large variety of possible operations while being simple enough to understand the workings. This chip is an ALU, which means it is the brain of the calculator.
