Thom Fries is a mathematics educator with a background in condensed matter physics and experience in programming, analysis, and financial engineering. Before joining Acera, Thom taught high school mathematics for six years at the Waldorf High School of Massachusetts Bay in Belmont, MA.
Throughout his teaching career, Thom has explored a wide range of math applications, including math-based art, voting systems, consumer mathematics, introductory economics, and information theory. He is passionate about helping students discover the relevance and creativity in mathematics, fostering curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
