Aaron Honig, Ph.D

Aaron Honig is an experienced biologist and science educator.  He has previously taught field marine biology while kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving with students on Catalina Island, studied tropical forest restoration in Ecuador, sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica and is a published researcher focused on shellfish ecology and climate change in the Gulf of Mexico (Grand Isle, LA) and the Gulf of Maine (Downeast Maine). He taught undergraduate biology laboratory courses and mentored many undergraduate researchers in marine ecology.  He recently taught Anatomy & Physiology, Marine Biology and Biology (in Spanish) in Gloucester, Lynn and Haverhill.  

He loves empowering students to discover their own place in the natural world through scientific exploration and sharing his passion for applied biology and chemistry that furthers our understanding of critical ecological systems and improves the lives of all Earth’s inhabitants. In his free time before fatherhood, he remembers enjoying skiing, diving, kayaking, painting and traveling, and looks forward to sharing such passions with his two boys soon.
